The biblical phrase of this month—How wonderful it is, how
pleasant, for God’s people to live together in harmony!
(Psalms 133:1)
The Athletic Day ‘Undo-Kai’ gives each child a great chance
to learn responsibility. Besides knowing his own place to
stand or time and the direction to proceed, he can remind
other ones kindly. It certainly is wonderful and pleasant
that the children make efforts to build up something
together with their teacher and classmates who they like so
much. They work in harmony like brothers and sisters.
They say that the ties in neighborhood are getting loose
recently. We might tend to talk to some close friends and
avoid seeing others. In that case, we should be careful not
to criticize those who we don’t know much, as it is often
difficult to build up harmony with strangers. Children, on
the other hand, seem to feel very close to any mothers and
they don’t hesitate to talk to them. As you can see on the
Athletic Day, each child is well taken care of and guarded by
the mothers of other classes as well. I hope that you would
get to know many other parents and make good friends with them
in this kindergarten.

★ “We will eat our watermelons now,” came the
announcement. Six yellow watermelons were harvested on
our succor goal. The children made a line to get small
pieces and shouted, “So sweet!” h-chan said, “I do not
like red watermelons but I love yellow ones!” “How many
helpings did you come back for?” asked the teacher and
K-kun said, “Six!”
Everyone seemed to suck to the skin and went back for
another helping.
★ We go to the park to rehearse for the Athletic Day,
and the children play on the big jungle gym at their free
time. On the first day, Yuri children rushed to the
attached tube slide and there was a big crush on the top.
After a while, a couple of them came down smiling from
the other side. It was S-chan of Sumire who guided them so
nicely to the other long slide saying, “It’s not scary.
I go with you.”
★ After playing outside, Bara children went into
the room sweating. As the teacher told them that they
could drink their tea out of their own bottles, r-chan
poured her tea and brought to the student teacher
sitting at the corner for her first observation.
How sweet!

☆ Mothers’ Club will be held on Friday October 13th.
Join them making Jack-o-lanterns.
☆ We were able to buy many books with the money that
Kyoryokukai donated as the profit of Hoshi Matsuri. Each
homeroom teacher chose books and keeps them in her own
classroom so that she can read them to class or the
children can read them anytime they want.
☆ Several breath-taking experiences on driving out
of our yard were reported. We remind you to take hands of
your children and bring them straight to your cars lest
they should run among your cars. Thank you.
