１２月の聖句学者たちはその星を見て、喜びにあふれた。
〔マタイによる福音 ２章 １０節〕
星は、大昔から、道しるべであり、海では羅針盤でした。天体の動きを見て、人々は作物の豊凶や、大きな災害の兆候、将来や政治のあり方をも占ったりしたのです。したがって、「学者（３人の博士）」は「3人の王」と呼ばれるように東方の国々の天文学者であり、政務にも携わる人でした。（ガスパール、メルキオール、バルサザールと、名前さえ伝えられています。）旧約聖書の伝承をよく知り、疑うことのなかった賢者たちですから、一段と赤く輝く星を発見してときには、「いよいよ、救い主の誕生だ！」とさぞ大喜びしたことでしょう。
私達は、「悪い印」にはよく気が付きます。しかし「よい印」に敏感になりたいもの、そして、心から喜びたいものですね。子どもの、ちょっとしたサインに心を留め、「うわっ！ こんなことを考えてくれるようになったのね！」と･･･。子どもはひとりひとり、素晴らしいプレゼントをたずさえて、クリスマスへの道を歩いています。しっかり「星＝印」を見つけてあげてください。
喜びいっぱいのクリスマスとお正月をお迎えくださいますように！
♪♪すてきなようちえん♪♪ （園で見かけたすてきなできごとをご紹介します。）
★ 「かみさまのおはなし」で、すみれぐみは新約聖書のバルテマイという目の見えない人がイエス様に癒される話を聞きました。目を閉じて、自分が見えないことはどんなことか、想像してみました。次に、「こんな人がお友だちの中にいたら、みんなはどんな風に思うかな。」と質問しました。「なおってほしいとおもう。」「みえるようになってほしい！」それから、「（自分でできないことの）おてつだいしてあげる。」という答えが返ってきました。それはすべて、イエス様の感じられたとおりだな、と感心しました。
★ 車で帰ったはずのｓちゃんが、お母さんと一緒に戻ってきて、「『ごめんなさい』をいいたい。」と言いました。帰る前に、こいでいたブランコが、横切ろうとしたお友だちにあたったから、とのこと。おでこを冷やしていたその子と、周りにいた人たちはｓちゃんの勇気と正直さにびっくり。痛かったことですが、すてきなできごとになりました。
★ ゆりさんの朝のテラス。ｈくんは、ママに抱っこされて登園したお友だちを見て、「かばん、もってあげるよ。」と手を差し伸べ言いました。「だっこはできないけどね」
★ ばらのお部屋の窓辺に、みかんの皮が干してあります。給食の後、「すてるのは、もったいないよ。」と言う意見が出たとのこと、何に使うのかな、楽しみです。
☆ 作品展の、ご参加ありがとうございました。この日の園舎はすてきな作品の並んだ美術館のようでした。「今年も、いいものを見せてもらいました。」と、言って帰られたお母さん、毎年、全体をゆっくり見てくださっているのですね。
☆ 交通安全教室は、変更がありましたが、ゆり、ばらは国道1号線を横断する体験をしました。すみれは保護者の皆様の参加を得て交通安全ミュージカルを鑑賞してきました。すみれは26日の消防署見学（四日市中消防署）でも勉強しました。
☆ 教会バザーでは全体の収益が70万円余りあり、カリタス･ジャパンの慈善活動とフィリピンの施設に送金し、一部は教会の建設資金としてプールされます。七五三の祝福にもたくさん参加していただきありがとうございました。
☆ 聖劇ではお着替えを手伝ってくださるお母様、裏方スタッフをやってくださる協力会の役員さんに感謝を致します。
☆ 聖劇の日、協力会からのプレゼントを、礼拝の日には園からのプレゼントを配ります。「心のともしび」のカレンダーとカトリック新聞クリスマス号はカトリック四日市教会からのプレゼントです。
☆ 17日には東アジア（インド、インドネシア、マレーシア、フィリピン、タイ、オーストラリア、ニュージーランド）の高校生と先生（計11名）が幼稚園を訪問し、園児と交流を持ちます。「21世紀東アジア青少年大交流計画プログラム」として日本政府がASEAN事務局に委託した受け入れの一部を『海の星』で協力することにしました。
※クリスマスに『祈り』のプレゼント※
とってもうれしいことに、大井ひかるくんがやっと退院できることになりました。ご家族の協力が実を結んだことは言うまでもありませんが、「海の星」の子どもたちとお母さん方の祈りと支えの賜物です。さらに感謝の祈りを捧げたいと思います。
このクリスマス、そして冬休みも、お子様の元気な姿を見るにつけ、病気の子どもたちとそのご家族に心を留め、特別に「祈り」をプレゼントしてくださいませんか。お子様が寝る前に、ちょっと思い出して「おいのりしようか。」と声をかけ、短いお祈りの時間を持ってみてください。子どもはお祈りがだいすきです。
The biblical phrase of this month— When the visitors saw
the same star they had seen in the East , how happy they
were, what joy was theirs! (Matthew 2:10)
The ancient people looked at stars to know the directions.
They also tried to predict the harvest or coming natural
disasters. These visitors were known as ‘three wise men’ or
‘three kings of Orient’. They became so excited to see the
bright, shining star, as they had read and believed that their
savior would come when the star appeared.
We may be sensitive about the sign of bad luck.
Let’s catch the sign of something good that is happening to
our children. Each child has his or her own gift worth
offering on Christmas. Don’t miss it. We wish you a very
merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

★ As Sumire children listened the Bible story of
a blind man, they tried to imagine how much they feel
helpless and fearful, with their eyes closed. I asked, “
What if there is your friend beside you with such handicap?”
They said, “I want him to be able to see,” or “I will
help him!” How much I got impressed! That is exactly how
Jesus felt, when He saw this man.
★ s-chan, who has just driven off, appeared with her
mother at the playground and said that she wanted to
apologize. The swing that she was riding accidentally hit
a boy who tried to cross by on the forehead. He only got
a minor bruise and his mother and the teachers praised
s-chan’s courage and honesty.
★ h-kun, seeing his friend came in the morning in
his mom’s arms, said to her, “I’ll carry his bag for you.”
He added, “Though I can’t carry him in my arms.”
★ I cannot wait to know how they use the tangerine
peels in Bara’s room. They dried them, as someone
suggested not to waste the peels after they ate tangerines
in their school lunch.
☆Thank you for coming to our Sakuhinten and giving us
nice comments. We were glad some mothers took much
time to look at all the works.
☆We had some lessons of pedestrian’s safety for our
children. Bara and Yuri learned how to cross the street
safely on the Route No1 and Sumire went out to watch
a musical for the same purpose. Sumire had visited the
fire station to see firefighters’ work, as well.
☆Some 700,000 yen were raised on the charity bazaar of
our catholic church and was sent to Caritas Japan,
Carasanz House in the Phlippines with the rest pooled
for the construction fund. Thank you for offering so
many items for the bazaar.
☆We thank the mothers of Kyoryokukai yakuin and others
for helping the Christmas play.
☆High-school students from 6 different countries will
visit us on the 17th and play with our children, as
a part of Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for
Students and Youths program.
